The full list of films I need to watch before Golden Globes 2019

Updated: Aug 8, 2021

Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born, Black Panther, and Crazy Rich Asians top my list

While writing my first book has been a great experience, there are moments of regret too. That I’ve missed out on life slipping by. That I should have struck a balance. That I should have been more ... present. It’s a different thing that I wouldn't trade my time spent book-writing even for a billion dollars.

With PiKu & ViRu done and published on Amazon (buy/download, read, and review here), I now have a full month to catch up on the best of 2018’s Hollywood movies (as well as films from other cinemas). At least whatever is out for legal streaming. The 76th Golden Globe Awards has posted a big list, but what’s life without a great challenge? Here's what I have to watch before the official telecast of this scintillating event on 7 January 2019 on VH1, Colors Infinity, and Comedy Central, in no particular order:

  1. Vice

  2. The Favourite

  3. Green Book

  4. A Star is Born

  5. BlacKkKlansman

  6. Mary Poppins Returns

  7. Black Panther

  8. If Beale Street Could Talk

  9. Roma

  10. Bohemian Rhapsody

  11. Boy Erased

  12. Can You Ever Forgive Me?

  13. Crazy Rich Asians

  14. First Man

  15. Isle of Dogs

  16. A Private War

  17. At Eternity's Gate

  18. Beautiful Boy

  19. Capernaum

  20. Destroyer

  21. Dumplin'

  22. Eighth Grade

  23. Girl

  24. Incredibles 2

  25. Mirai

  26. Never Look Away

  27. The Old Man & the Gun

  28. A Quiet Place

  29. Ralph Breaks the Internet

  30. Shoplifters

  31. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

  32. Stan & Ollie

  33. Tully

  34. The Wife

Wish me luck so I can catch up on as many of these 2018 Hollywood movies as I can.
